Dear Fellow Parishioners,
Plans have begun for the annual parish Fall Festival planned for September 18, 2021.
The committee is forming, but we could still use a few more faces. If you have any interest in helping please reach out to Megan Wheeler or Kim Cummings. (contact information below)
As we plan the festival this year, we will try to communicate often through our parish bulletin and email. This way we can keep everyone up-to-date on how things are coming along and on remaining needs.
One thing we will need is more food vendors. We would like to have a variety of options that reflect the diversity in our parish. If you know of anyone, business, or restaurant that would be willing to donate and serve food that evening, please let us know and we will reach out to them. Or feel free to connect them with us.
We are also looking for families to “sponsor” a booth or game that evening. This means the family would be responsible for running an event for four hours and making sure they had enough volunteers to staff it. We will still provide the equipment and any prizes for the game, unless the family would like to provide the prizes, but this would not be required. This would take a tremendous amount of work off recruiting so many volunteers to keep events running that night.
In July, we will be mailing each family raffle tickets to sell in advance of the festival. This year, we would like to make it a competition! The person who sells the most raffle tickets will receive a special prize and will have the honor of being named the Festival King or Queen that evening!! Additional tickets will be available in the parish center office where you can also drop off money for tickets sold and any tickets that you do not sell.
We will also be putting up our “Christmas in July” Christmas tree in the vestibule. Each tag will have an item needed for donation. You can bring the item with you to the next mass and leave it in the container labeled “Fall Festival”, next to the tree.
Lastly, we need lots of volunteers to help the event run smoothly. If your teen needs some service hours, this is a great opportunity to get them! We will need help with set-up, tear-down, and during the festival. More to come on how to sign up soon!!
We are looking forward to this opportunity for fellowship and fun!!
Sincerely,
Megan Wheeler & Kim Cummings
